Instructional Practices: A PLC Structure is a course focused on utilizing a structure for teacher and student growth in English Language Arts.

ELA Instructional Practices is directed to those interested in learning more about effective implementation of ELA Professional Learning Communities (PLC). A PLC is more than a weekly meeting between faculty members.  The goal of a PLC is for collaborative professional learning to take place. Discussions should center around research, data, and the impact of instruction on student learning. PLC collaboration and learning is most effective when structural norms are set and utilized consistently.  This course strives to provide teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators with a structure for effective PLC implementation as well as opportunities for practical application.

We support you in your quest for a deeper understanding of the instructional practices in PLCs! NCDPI does not offer literacy credits and/or CEUs for this work; please contact your local education agency regarding any CEU credits. Submit your completed portfolio to your LEA as proof of completion.

This Canvas course takes approximately 20 hours to complete.  Within each lesson, participants may engage in activities, read informative slides, review resources, and view videos.
