 Active Citizen Engagement

Below are some ideas for connecting the information in the module to your life as an active citizen in North Carolina:

  • Write a letter to the editor to a newspaper or magazine either encouraging the US to end their involvement in a global issue (eg. Syrian war) or encouraging the US to get involved in a global issue (eg. child soldiers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo).
  • Write to the US ambassador to the United Nations encouraging them to get the US either more or less entangled in UN action abroad.
  • Give a presentation to a group of people outside of class about what the Cold War has taught us about US leadership in the world.
