Introduction

If democracy is about giving the people of a country the chance to participate and have their voices heard then the civil rights movement had specific goals regarding how that democracy should treat the participation and voices of some people. This module gives students an opportunity to explore how the civil rights movement impacted the function of democracy in NC and the United States.
