Introduction
The New Deal represented a series of far ranging federal programs designed to alleviate the effects of the Great Depression and to help the American economy rebound. Here students will learn about some of the programs enacted by the state of North Carolina and the federal government during the period. They will learn about the perceived benefits of the programs as well as learn about the position of detractors.
