Introduction
The Great Depression led to tremendous economic hardship for North Carolinians, particularly those who worked as farmers or wage laborers. This section of the module focuses on the oral histories of North Carolinians living during the Great Depression. It also begins to explore government responses to the Depression, including the New Deal.
