Module 9 - Active Citizen Engagement

 Active Citizen Engagement

Below are some ideas for connecting the information in the module to your life as an active citizen in North Carolina:

  • Write a letter to your Congressperson/people. In the letter describe to them exactly when you think the US should go to war and when they should avoid such conflict. Encourage them to avoid war unless the conditions you describe happen.
  • Contact the office of the President of the United States. Describe to them a situation in the world where you think the US either should or should not go to war and encourage them to do as you suggest by providing them with evidence.
  • Give a presentation to a group of people outside of school about the cost of World War I (consider the economic, social, and human cost) and describe whether it was worth it.
