Below are some ideas for connecting the information in the module to your life as an active citizen in North Carolina:

  • Write a letter to a local newspaper/magazine/news website describing how well North Carolina compares to the progress made in the rest of the South. Include suggestions on how we can do better.
  • Identify an area where North Carolina has not progressed as well as it could. Volunteer with a local organization attempting to address the issue that you identified.
  • Write a blog/social media post(s) about the role of industry and agriculture in North Carolina and where you think the future of the state’s economy is going (and where the state should invest to develop).
