This page provides interested students with all materials needed to apply in North Carolina. It is important to be aware that links to the application and all accompanying required materials will only be active during the application and selection process. If the links are not active at the time you are visiting this page, the application and selection process will have ended. Unless the national Senate Youth office informs states otherwise, North Carolina application materials will be available beginning August 1 of each year.

A student applying for the Senate Youth Program opportunity should be a current participant in leadership, public service, and government or civics-related activities within their school and/or community. The student must also be able to show a prior history of leadership, public service, and government or civics-related activities.

Each student who applies for the U.S. Senate Youth opportunity in North Carolina must submit ALL of the required forms hyperlinked below. Each form will be submitted through a secure online platform. Each student should direct the individuals who are writing recommendations to visit this page and use the links for Forms D, E, F, and G to access the Recommendation and Confirmation forms that MUST be submitted as a part of the application process. A student applying may also choose to copy the links and send them in an appropriate written communication to the people who will be asked to write recommendations or confirmations on their behalf. It is the student's responsibility to reach out to and follow up with everyone who may be asked to complete a form on the student's behalf. A helpful resource with suggested wording for sending an official email to people who are asked to write letters of recommendation or provide confirmations. This resource may be downloaded in the additional resources section below.
