Past NC Senate Youth Delegates

Randy Brantley’s connection to the Senate Youth Program began as a student himself when he was selected as a USSYP delegate for North Carolina in 1982, during the presidency of Ronald Reagan. During that experience, Randy witnessed firsthand the power of philanthropy, leadership, and public service, and a conversation with leaders from the Hearst Foundations left a profound impression on him and helped shape the course of his professional life and his enduring belief in supporting programs that invest in people and possibility.

Mr. Brantley currently serves as Grants Director for the Novant Health Foundation, where his work continues to help bring meaningful projects and opportunities to life for communities across our state and beyond. Yet despite the demands of his professional career, Randy has remained deeply committed to the North Carolina United States Senate Youth Program.

For more than 20 years, he has faithfully volunteered his time, wisdom, professionalism, and expertise to support North Carolina’s delegate selection process, serving on our interview committee and helping identify and encourage some of our state’s most promising young leaders. Those who have worked alongside him know that Randy brings not only experience and insight but also genuine care for students and a deep belief in the importance of civic leadership and public service. His commitment reflects the very best ideals of the Senate Youth Program: leadership, integrity, mentorship, and service to others.
