WIDA New Digital Resources

WIDA announced the launch of new digital resources to support the use of the WIDA ELD Standards Framework, 2020 Edition on July 20, 2022.

WIDA ELD Standards Framework, 2020 Edition in CASE® Format Links to an external site.: Standards expressed in machine-readable Competencies and Academic Standards Exchange® (CASE) format, provided by 1EdTech (formerly IMS Global), that can be used to set up digital connections between standards and instructional resources and shorten planning time and crosswalk creation. This resource is intended for a technical audience looking to align local instruction to state standards.

Digital Explorer of the WIDA ELD Standards Framework, 2020 Edition Links to an external site.: A digital version of the WIDA English Language Development (ELD) Standards Framework, 2020 Edition. It categorizes Language Expectations (e.g., ELD-LA.K.Narrate.Interpretive) in two ways: (1) Explore by ELD Standard Statement and Grade-Level Cluster and (2) Explore by Key Language Use and Communication Mode. Proficiency Level Descriptors (PLDs) can be explored by Grade-Level Cluster and Communication Mode. This Digital Explorer will be announced to educators via Monday Mail on August 15 and will be available on the 2020 Edition Links to an external site. page of the WIDA website.
