On March 4, 2021, the NC State Board of Education unanimously approved the 2020 Edition of the WIDA English Language Development (ELD) Standards as the NC Standard Course of Study. The NC ELD SCOS document includes ELD Standards, Key Language Uses, Language Expectations, and Proficiency Level Descriptors (PLD) for the following grade clusters: Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grades 2-3, Grades 4-5, Grades 6-8, and Grades 9-12.
