LinguaFolio Online for North Carolina (LFO for NC)

NCDPI worked with the Title VI Language Resource Center at the University of Oregon, the Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS), to customize a LinguaFolio Online (LFO) for North Carolina, which replaced the older online version of this tool, the e-LinguaFolio.

The LFO for NC is the same as the national LFO with the 2017 NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements, plus it includes the ESL Can-Do Statements.

  • In 2018 and 2019, over 50 ESL and World Language teachers, and their students, piloted the new LFO for NC. Based on their feedback, changes and updates were made.

  •  In 2019 - 2020, North Carolina teachers in K-12 public schools who wanted to use LFO in their classrooms were eligible for FREE accounts for themselves and their students.

  • Now, public school units (PSUs), or districts and charter schools, in North Carolina can access LFO for NC, but they will need to make their own arrangements about paying for their LFO accounts, which are approximately $2 per student. Teacher LFO for NC accounts are free.
