Empathy Criteria:

  • Perception of Self and Others - This indicator involves identifying and understanding one's own feelings and the feelings of others. It includes recognizing emotions through words, facial expressions, and body language. This indicator emphasizes the importance of emotional awareness and sensitivity.   
  • Relationships - This indicator focuses on demonstrating interest in and respect for others' feelings, perspectives, and experiences. It includes creating positive and supportive interactions. This indicator highlights the importance of building and maintaining meaningful connections.  
  • Diverse Perspectives - This indicator involves understanding and respecting viewpoints that differ from one's own. It includes asking questions to better understand others' perspectives. This indicator underscores the importance of open-mindedness.
  • Effective Listening - This indicator focuses on listening without interrupting, accurately paraphrasing, and asking questions related to the speaker's message. It includes reflecting on and attempting to understand the speaker's message from their point of view. This indicator emphasizes the importance of active and empathetic listening.
